A new responsive site in 2015. This quality bed and breakfast business already had a site but it looked and worked old-fashioned. Our brief was to bring it bang up-to-date. And we were also able to give advice  on some good hospitality business practise. We were in the business for years, and with consulting work still have strong links to the catering world.

There are four rooms and we try to give as full a picture as possible of what it’s like to stay there, give confidence to would-be visitors. Essentially, it’s one main page, plus extras like ‘things to do’ in the area. The pictures are not professional, but enough quality to show the place well.

Being built with WordPress, the client has password access to the workings, especially important for updating the availability calendar. The calendar module is quite simple, easy to understand, and easy to update (very important). Not part of the original package of the site, but a ‘plug-in’. Plug-ins are a speciality of WordPress. If you want some extra bit of functionality, then there always seems to be a WordPress plug-in to help. Often free, sometimes a few dollars, there are 30,000+ WP plug-ins.
